Course summary

This course is for individuals wishing to develop higher-level professional skills relevant to the construction and build environment sector. The purpose of BTEC Higher Nationals in Construction and The Built Environment is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the construction and the built environment sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualifications aim to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake them. This programme incorporates a combination of traditional classroom teaching, open learning and research based experiential learning, laboratory experiments and demonstrations, use of surveying equipment, industry standard IT applications and group activities. Many assignments are based around students' own work experiences. The course comprises mandatory and optional units.
