Course summary

The Foundation Degree explores the scientific basis of plant cultivation and related technologies, the horticultural business environment and provides an understanding of the significance of horticulture to society. Modern horticulture combines knowledge of plant and soil science, utilisation of innovative new technologies, business acumen and entrepreneurship. Horticulture offers a stimulating and rewarding career path for anyone with an interest in plants and the environment.

Qualification requirements

Normally 5 GCSEs Including Maths and English (or equivalents) are required, however, applicants are advised to check with the University Centre if they do not possess the specific qualifications. The University Centre may consider applicants with work experience within a relevant industry in place of some qualifications. Applicants who believe they may be eligible for Accreditation of Prior Certificated and/or Experiential Learning (APCL/APEL) will be considered on an individual basis.
