Linguistics is the scientific study of language and, as such, has a central role to play in exploring what it means to be human. As a linguistics student here at Brighton you will have the opportunity to explore one of the most complex and intriguing aspects of human cognitive and social life. The degree will teach you vital transferable skills, such as the ability to think critically and reason clearly. You will learn how to research independently, how to work as part of a team and will develop better presentation and communication skills. There is also an opportunity to study abroad for a year, should you wish to broaden your horizons even further. There is the opportunity to spend your third year abroad as part of the Erasmus programme.
