Your fourth academic year would then include a year in industry placement. Want to take your place in the ever-evolving landscape of digital market and/or social media? Our BA (Hons) Digital Marketing & Social Media degree course at UCA Epsom will give you the skills to get you there. On this course you’ll discover the fundamentals of the industry, from media planning and buying, brand identity, marketing and communications, and the impact of social media on society, politics, and the economy – and how to think of social media as a prolific business tool, and not just entertainment. You’ll also have the chance to push your skills into a specific area of interest within the creative industries – cosmetics and beauty, fashion, games, lifestyle, and music. And in your second year, you’ll be able to pick from range of exciting elective units to broaden your knowledge. By the end of your degree, you’ll become an expert marketeer and a highly effective social media manager, able to know how to use paid, owned and earned media to meet business goals, to understand the role of the influencer and how to target your core audiences. You’ll be adaptable, quick-thinking, and able to recognise the role digital marketing and social media plays in differing global markets. Related courses

Modules

UCA’s Integrated Foundation Year is designed to give you the skills you’ll need to start your degree in the best possible way – with confidence, solid knowledge of creative practice, study skills and more. You’ll explore a range of creative techniques and develop your portfolio, with your chosen subject in mind. We’ll work with you throughout the year to ensure you’re on the right track and give you the tools to achieve your highest potential on your degree. If you opt to complete a professional practice year, this will take place in year three. You will undertake a placement within the creative industries to further develop your skills and CV While on your Professional Practice Year, you will be required to pay a reduced tuition fee for that year. This fee will be determined using government funding regulations. Based on current regulations, we expect this to be a maximum of 20% of the tuition fee rate that you are charged for your second year of study. You will also incur additional travel and accommodation costs during this year. The University will provide you with further advice and guidance about this as you approach your Professional Practice Year.
