Assessment method

You will experience a wide range of assessment methods at LMA which focus around your practical development as a well rounded Music Producer These include practical demonstrations of a range of technical skills and techniques, both individually and as part of production team. Practical exercises and briefs are included which assess your creative ability to produce a diverse range of music and sound products, Assessed journals and reflective planning exercises are also used which enable you to reflect and analyse your skills and identify ways they can develop. In addition, in the modules where you investigate the music performance industry and your role within it, you will again experience a variety of assessment methods such as poster presentations, comparative reviews of different productions , and investigative essays and reports.

International applicants

This course is unable to accept international applicants who need a Tier 4 Student Visa to study in the UK as LMA does not hold a UKVI licence

Qualification requirements

LMA are happy to accept a wide range of qualifications, including but not limited to: A Levels, BTEC Extended Diploma, OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma, BTEC Subsidiary Diploma(s), Access to HE courses, Scottish Highers, IB Diploma Programme, Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, RSL Level 3 Diploma and T Levels. We also welcome students who have a combination of qualifications - e.g. 2 A Levels and 1 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma and an extended project. Our academic entry criteria from qualifications you are currently taking is 96 UCAS tariff points and your offer will be tailored to reflect this. We assess all applications individually. If you have any questions about whether your qualifications meet our entry criteria, please do not hesitate to contact the LMA admissions team.

Audition

As part of the application and admissions process, all applicants will be required to submit a digital audition. Full details of what is required for the content of the audition video will be sent to all applicants along with guidance about the format and how to submit.
