This BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies is designed to enable you to develop the knowledge, skills and competency with which to work as a senior practitioner in Early Years. This three year full-time degree is designed to provide an excellent career opportunity for those who already work in an Early Years setting but who do not have a recognised practice qualification, and also for those who want to begin working with children aged 0-8years and their families.
The course has a modular structure and modules studied include: Early Learning and Development; Educational Play; Collaborative Working; Leadership and Development; Safeguarding; Language Development; and Inclusivity and Multicultural Awareness.
Progress is based on continuous assessment across six semesters. This process uses a range of approaches including reports, essays, seen exams, group presentations and reflective portfolios as well as observed practice experience.

|UCAS Tariff||80 points||A minimum of 80 UCAS points from AS/A2 level (must include at least one A2) or other equivalent advanced level course; or BTEC National Award /Certificate/ Diploma in a related subject; or a pass in a relevant Access to HE qualification; or other UK/overseas Level 3 qualifications. In addition we require a pass in English Language at GCSE at grade C or above, or an equivalent. International students would need to have an IELTS test at band 6.0 or above. Mature applicants may be considered on relevant experience without having the required tariff points.|
