This course is subject to revalidation This course is aimed at students who want to experience a range of computing and IT skills that are widely used in industry and want to keep up with emerging technologies. The modules cover identified skills shortages within the industry and are delivered through lectures, case studies, practical demonstrations and tutorials.

Modules

Year one, Level 4 modules: • Academic and employability skills • Computer architecture and networks • Data analysis and visualisation • Information engineering • Internet technologies and security • Software Development. Year two, Level 5 modules: Routing and Switching concepts • Application development • Database management systems • Enterprise and innovation group project • Project management and research methods • Web technologies.

Assessment method

Assessment is through exams, practical tests and assignments which apply to relevant case studies.
