The BA (Hons) Applied Studies (Music) (Top-Up) is designed to convert your existing Foundation Degree into a full Music Honours Degree. The overall degree course will develop your proficiency as a musician whilst simultaneously growing transferable skills, cultivating a range of career options both within the music industry and beyond. This one-year top-up degree is designed to allow you the opportunity to explore and perfect your specialisms, and to demonstrate your skills as an industry professional. The five specially constructed modules allow the necessary freedom for students to pursue a personalised area of focus, whilst providing a structured and rigorous approach. Broader topics of self-directed modules include an extended applied project representing the culmination of three years of study, academic research practice, advanced and professional recording and production, exploration of innovative musical practices, and a collaborative musical performance. Successful graduates of this one-year top-up course receive a full Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours. Features and Benefits

Year 1 Modules: Applied Practice, Live Performace, Recording Project, Applied Research & Innovation Music

Assessment method

Assessment for each module consists of formative and summative assessment. Formative assessment is assessment that informs the teaching and learning process and does not count towards your final grade for the module. Summative assessment is restricted to two graded assignment submissions per module.
