Course summary

This programme is designed to help you progress as an international healthcare professional. It will give you both the skills and the professional qualification you need to apply for more senior leadership and management positions within health and social care. Our team of experienced academics and practitioners focus on competent management and effective leadership, giving students from both clinical and managerial backgrounds the tools required to deliver service improvement and sustainable change in health and social care settings. The programme is suitable for those working in both clinical and non-clinical roles: those already working as allied health professionals, clinical scientists, nurses or doctors who wish to pursue managerial opportunities those working within the health and social care or voluntary sector in roles such as commissioning, quality improvement, clinical auditing or risk management who are looking to take the next step in their career You will have the opportunity to study with people from a variety of different countries, services and settings. The programme is designed to be as useful as possible to both yourself and your employer; we combine study and assessment of theory alongside its application within a work setting. We also offer a UK-focused version of the programme.

Modules

The MSc Leadership in Health & Social Care (International) programme comprises of 4 x 30-credit modules: Health & Social Care Leadership (LEM7031-C) Managing People in Health and Social Care (LEM7032-C) Understanding Health and Social Care through Policy and Strategy (LEM7033-C) Leading Change and Service Improvement in Health and Social Care (LEM7034-C) A Final Stage 60-credit Extended Literature Review with a clear international focus is also required.


Entry requirements

Whilst you will normally hold a first degree or professional qualification we will consider your application if you do not possess such a qualification but have appropriate work experience. Additional entry requirements: Recognised English qualification, for example, GCSE English grade A-C. English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 with 6.0 in each sub-test.
