Course summary
Have an impact on the world around you with a degree that will open up a wide range of career opportunities in the world of education. Based on current practice and research in the Department, this course will provide you with in-depth knowledge and understanding of education, drawing on the disciplines of sociology, philosophy, psychology, political science, and history, to enable you to develop knowledge and skills in the academic study of education. Offering an optional pathway in International, our BA Education degree, enables you to develop an understanding of a growing area of interest in the field of education. The use of outside speakers on the course, who are experts in the field and practitioners in a variety of educational disciplines, helps to demonstrate education in a real-world context. This highly practical course has placements in each year, which will enable you to relate theory to practice and gain transferable, hands-on skills.

Assessment method
You will be assessed in a variety of ways, including: coursework, portfolios, essays, presentations, posters and digital outputs. You will also be assessed on placement by your tutor and placement mentor. There are no exams on this course.
