Course summary
Our MSc Psychology lets you match modules to your interests and training needs. We’ll teach you the latest skills in psychological research and data analysis. This degree will help you progress your career if you're interested in data science. It also gives you the option to pursue a research career, either in the private sector or by studying for a PhD. You can select modules covering fundamental and advanced data analysis to give your course a research methods focus. Or you could carry out a practical research apprenticeship in an area of psychology that interests you, mentored by an expert in the field. Whichever modules you choose, all students learn research methods and data science techniques, using tools such as the statistical software package R. We'll help you explore the latest developments in research, including collaborative science practices. You'll also study the concepts and issues facing psychology researchers today. This postgraduate psychology degree will teach you: in-depth knowledge of specific topics, issues and methods how to relate and apply your research to psychological issues how to analyse and communicate complex ideas how to creatively plan and manage projects

Modules include: Advanced Statistical Methods in Psychology, Applied Research Methods (ARM): Correlational Methods/ Planning & Designing Research/ Qualitative Methods/ Statistical Analysis of Comparisons & Group Differences, Concepts & Skills, Open Science in Psychology, Statistical Programming in R, Advanced Statistical Methods in Psychology.
Assessment method
We'll assess you using: research papers presentations quizzes problem sets exams (including multiple choice and essay questions) your research dissertation
How to apply
International applicants
IELTS 7.0 overall, with minimum of 6.5 in all components.
Entry requirements
You'll need a 2:1 degree, or internationally recognised equivalent by the university, in either: Psychology a related discipline, if you can demonstrate that it includes quantitative research skills
