Course summary

Our BA (Hons) Film and Screen Studies (with Integrated International Foundation Year and Professional Practice Year) is a five year degree programme, specifically designed to provide international students with the English language and creative skills before they embark on year one of a degree. Your fourth academic year would then include a year in industry placement. From Alfred Hitchcock to Pedro Almodóvar, and from silent movies to the modern era, you'll delve deep into the wonder of film and television on our new BA (Hons) Film & Screen Studies degree course at UCA Farnham. This course is aimed at those people who have a passion for film, but are more intrigued by the contexts, theories and histories of it, rather than the making of it. You may wish to have a career as a film critic, film historian or work in film distribution – whatever your ambitions, you’ll gain the critical and analytical skills to become an expert. You’ll delve deep into the craft of film and screen, using sociological approaches and close textual analysis to examine a diverse range of creators and cinematic movements from around the world.
