Course summary

This is a four year programme that will allow you to qualify in two fields of nursing. Your first field will be mental health nursing. Mental health nursing is a specialist professional course that enables you to make a unique contribution to the health and wellbeing of people of all ages who experience, or may be at risk of developing, mental health problems. Mental health nursing focuses on promoting recovery and improving outcomes for people experiencing mental health problems, based on the philosophy of holistic person-centred care, as well as challenging the stigma, discrimination and inequality often associated with mental illness problems. Your second field will be one of the following: adult nursing; child nursing; learning disability nursing. You will be asked to indicate your second field preferences once your application has been received.

Qualification requirements

Applicants must have GCSE Maths and English at grade C (grade 4) or above, or equivalent. A Level General Studies accepted; Welsh Baccalaureate accepted alongside A Levels/BTEC/OCRs. Please note that applicants must also have evidence of recent study within the last 5 years.
