Course summary

Foundation Year courses have been designed for students who do not have the necessary academic qualifications needed to enter directly into the first year of a degree but who have the ability and commitment to do so. Once the Foundation Year has been completed successfully, you can then go on to complete your degree. This course aims to prepare students to work in the Banking and Financial Services industry. A key objective is to ensure that students become familiar with relevant banking technology and adapting to future risk management strategies. The course modules are designed to develop broader learning and shared experience in the banking sector. You will gain an understanding of the latest challenges and issues in the banking industry, learning the importance of adapting to ever-changing regulation, having risk management strategies that can be leveraged, and exploring the latest technology to ensure banking remains relevant to increased competition. Extra Opportunities We are one of the very few universities who offer the opportunity for our Banking and Finance students to gain the CISI Level 4 Financial Advisory Diploma (L4 FAD). The course has been designed with reference to the qualification and standard of the CISI, therefore creating an opportunity for students to gain the relevant accreditation upon completion of the course. Banking has various roles and functions and this course will allow you to experience this variety, helping you gain the skills and knowledge needed to go into any one of these roles and increasing your future employability.
