This brand new BA (Hons) Politics degree is designed to look at the three main areas of political study: Political theory, International relations and Comparative politics. The course will give you a solid grounding in all of the main debates and controversies of the day, as well as developing the skills to investigate, research and explore subjects further. The course is delivered by a team who have worked hard to establish relationships with potential employers, such as local governments, political parties, lobbying companies, the voluntary sector, parliaments and the trade union movement. Guest speakers, workshops and masterclasses are built into the course, with an optional placement module in the third year, based in a political environment, that will help you gain invaluable experience in the field.

HNC Social Science (12 SCQF credits) with 3 additional SCQF credits at level 7, and at least grade C in the Graded Unit, will be considered for direct entry to year two

Additional fee information
EU students commencing their studies in 2021-22 academic year, who do not have pre-settled or settled status in the UK, will be considered as international for tuition fee purposes. For 2021-22, students will get an automatic scholarship of £3,000 per annum and the 4th year of study will be free for those studying full-time, on continuous study, who have paid for the previous three years at the University of the Highlands and Islands.
Eligible EU students, with pre-settled/settled status, will be considered as home students for fee purposes and will be charged the Scotland-domiciled fee rate, which may be covered by the Scottish Government. To find out more please visit www.saas.gov.uk
For RUK students studying a consecutive four year full-time degree, only years 1, 2 and 3 incur the fees stated, year 4 is free. For 5-year integrated masters degrees these fees are incurred for 4 of the 5 years.
