A Brighton Adult Nursing degree prepares you for a rewarding career where you will tailor individual care, working closely with patients and their families as part of a team of health and social care professionals. The course is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), ensuring your qualification meets national standards. Successful completion of our Nursing (Adult) BSc(Hons) means you will be eligible to apply for registration with the NMC and practice as a nurse in the UK.  At Brighton, you’ll be part of a community that helps you grow, no matter what your background. You’ll spend 50% of your course in practice learning – on placement in healthcare settings and in our specialist nursing facilities. Modules

Year 1 In the first year, you’ll begin developing the essential skills to assess and plan care in partnership with individuals, considering their physical, mental, social and spiritual needs. You will explore human biology and how it relates to health and illness across the lifespan, laying the scientific foundation for your nursing practice. Alongside university-based learning, you’ll gain hands-on experience on clinical placement, where you'll start applying your knowledge in a real healthcare setting. Core modules Nursing Assessment in Partnership with People Planning Nursing Care in Partnership with People Human Biology for Nursing Practice Learning for Nursing Year 1 Year 2 In the second year, you’ll build on your foundational skills by learning how to promote health, prevent illness and care for people with long-term conditions. You will explore how nurses use evidence to improve care quality and safety, and develop your ability to respond to clinical deterioration with confidence and compassion. You’ll strengthen your decision-making, communication and teamwork to prepare you to deliver person-centred care in increasingly complex healthcare environments. Core modules Quality Improvement Using Evidence-Based Nursing Practice Nursing to Promote Health and Prevent Illness Approaches to Nursing Adults with Long-term Health Conditions Nursing Assessment and Management of Clinical Deterioration in an Adult Practice Learning for Adult Nursing Year 2 Final year In your final year, you’ll focus on becoming a confident, autonomous practitioner ready to lead and shape the future of healthcare. You will enhance your clinical decision-making, develop leadership skills and learn to deliver compassionate care in complex situations – including palliative and end-of-life care. With advanced placements and opportunities to explore contemporary issues in nursing, you will graduate equipped to make a meaningful impact in diverse healthcare settings and advocate for high-quality, person-centred care. Core modules Contemporary and Future Nursing Practice Palliative and End of Life Care Using an Integrative Nursing Approach Leading and Managing Nursing Care and Effective Teams Enhanced Nursing Assessment and Clinical Decision Making Practice Learning for Adult Nursing Year 3

The fees listed in the table above are for full-time UK undergraduate students in academic year 2025-26. You will pay further fees in each year of your course. Fees may increase each year. UK undergraduate and certain postgraduate fees are regulated by the UK government. The annual fee increase will not exceed the UK government's maximum regulated tuition fee limit set for the relevant academic year. Many of our courses include the option of a salaried placement year. Tuition fees for a placement year are charged at a lower rate of £1850. The international tuition fees listed above are for full-time courses during the academic year 2025-26. Further tuition fees are payable in each year of study.
