Course summary

Please note that this is a Welsh-medium joint honours degree that does not have an equivalent in English. The BA Welsh / Creating (Performance/ Media) degree at Aberystwyth University enables you to combine your interest in all forms of performance and production for Theatre and Media with the dynamic study of Welsh language and literature. You will connect with key partners in the industry such as the BBC, S4C, Boom, Fiction Factory, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch and will benefit from a close association with Aberystwyth Arts Centre on campus, one of the largest arts centres in Wales. Studying modules in Creating Performance / Media will allow students to develop significantly important skills in textual analysis, presentation, devising, camera work, post-production and technical production management. Studying Welsh will give you an opportunity to deepen your engagement with a community where the Welsh language is an integral part of the fabric of society and to live and study in a town that is one of the language's strongholds.
