Course summary
This course has been specifically designed and developed in partnership with key industry sectors to ensure the course is relevant and up to date to meet industry requirements. This course will broaden your knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues within this exciting sector to learn elements of airline and airport business practices. Whilst prior to COVID-19 the airport and airline sector had witnessed unprecedented growth, the pandemic is having an enormous impact on the aviation industry, affecting passenger traffic, air cargo demand, airport workforce and incoming revenues. This industry focused course lays the foundation for you to join a sector which is ever changing, and this course highlights the constant changes within the industry and supports you to develop the key skills and in-depth knowledge to understand the sector. You will benefit from tutor’s specialist knowledge of aviation and strong links to industry which will allow you insights into operational practices. Our students follow careers in airlines, airport ground handling, airline management, airport administration, airport security and airline operations.

Eden Flight Training are the only Approved Training Organisation (by the Civil Aviation Authority) in the North East of England, based at Teesside Airport with a philosophy of bringing affordable flight training in a safe, professional and friendly environment. You will learn the theory of flying and then put this into practice with a day of flying lessons where YOU will fly the aircraft (additional costs apply - TBC).
Assessment method
You are assessed through a variety of assessment methods to enhance the experience as well as develop key transferable skills. The assessment is designed to provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your ability to meet the learning outcomes of the programme.
Qualified teacher status (QTS)
To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
