Course summary

The five key benefits of studying Archaeology with Ancient Egyptian Culture are: 1. Our students will study a wide range of different modules and topics encompassing Egypt and archaeology more broadly in a specialised and comparative way. 2. Following an innovative immersive learning approach, this programme focuses on the material culture in conjunction with textual evidence and heritage aspects. 3. We believe in interactive small-group classes with high student engagement complemented by overview lectures, workshops, one-to-one tutorials, and seminars. 4. Our staff is research active and acknowledged as experts in their field. This research informs directly the teaching and gives opportunities for students to be part of research projects providing a cutting-edge teaching environment. 5. Students have the opportunity to choose elective modules from all other humanities subjects and topics.

Assessment method

The programme is assessed in a variety of ways and will include several of the following type of assessment: essays of 1,000 to 4,000 words in length, document analysis, book/ journal reviews, short reports and reflective journals, time tests, seen and unseen tests, field journals, posters, group and individual presentations, dissertations of 10,000 words, wikis, commentaries and film evaluations.
