Course summary
This programme enables you to develop analytical skills by exploring a diverse range of texts, including novels, poems, plays, films, images and graphic novels. You will look at how meaning is created through language and form and at relationships between texts and contemporary cultural issues. Teaching is usually over three terms of ten weeks, each with a weekly attendance of two days a week. You will normally study two modules, worth 20 credits, each term (plus a dissertation worth 40 credits in the third year). Teaching will involve lectures, guest speakers, small group sessions or seminars, tutorials, workshops, theatre and cinema and field trips.
