Course summary

Human behaviour is a leading cause of physical illness world-wide. Our well-established BPS-accredited programme teaches you how psychology can be applied to improve wellbeing, prevent and manage long-term conditions. Expert lecturers in developing and testing interventions and theory have strong links to local community and clinical settings. Hands-on small group skills workshops, journal club, and a choice of optional modules enhance your learning. Graduates can progress to further training towards becoming registered, chartered, health psychologists

Typical modules include: Applied Research Methods (ARM): Correlational Methods, Biopsychosocial Aspects of Health, Psychology and the Delivery of Health Care; Ageing, Health and Wellbeing, Apprenticeship in Health Psychology

Assessment method

Behaviour change diary and essay, mini-systematic review, research proposal, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and examinations

How to apply

International applicants

IELTS 7.0 overall, with minimum of 6.5 in all components.

Entry requirements

Upper second-class honours degree or equivalent in psychology, including statistics modules; other degrees considered in conjunction with an approved BPS conversion course. Experience of working in a mental health setting is desirable.
