Develop the skills that employers are looking for like graduate Emma Cox who says: “I wouldn’t be where I am now without the help support and knowledge that I learnt from this course.” We recommend you visit us at our business campus, which is both state of the art and welcoming. Only minutes from Chester’s historic city centre, and nestled alongside the banks of the River Dee, this is a special and unique place that will enable you to flourish and grow from undergraduate student to confident business professional. You are a name here. We value your uniqueness. Throughout your degree course, you will be mentored and supported by a Personal Tutor. These are people who will support you through life’s challenges. You will also benefit from our Student Experience Representatives. These are students who make sure that your voice is heard. Our students gave international business management a 100% satisfaction rating in the National Student Survey. Our business school is also award winning.
Your transformation from new student to future business professional will begin from day one. In your first year you will gain an understanding of the business environment and develop fundamental management skills in marketing, people and organisations, and finance. In year two, you will translate this management knowledge to the wider world and gain a solid understanding of the challenging international business environment. Aspects such as globalisation, cultural variation and the challenges of different geographical, political and economic factors are addressed. You will start to shape your career path by choosing an aspect of international business and get on-the-job experience in a 5 week work placement that suits your personal ambitions. Whether working in the UK, on a supported work placement in China or engaging in community projects in Costa Rica, or Africa students find this aspect particularly rewarding, as do future employers. Your final year is even more tailored towards giving you the competitive edge you need to enter the area of business you want. You will carry out an original supervised research project into a subject you select and complete a module designed to maximise individual professional success. Most of what you study will be anchored to today’s international business world – the top global companies and emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence and financial innovation.
A range of assessment methods are used across all modules. Assessment will be a combination of written essay and report assignments, presentations, examinations, group projects and seminar contributions. Individual projects form a major part of the final year degree assessments.
