Course summary

If you want to add to your existing qualifications in English as a Foreign Language, our Business English with Translation (Final Year Top Up) course is for you. We offer a programme that develops your English fluency and professional communication skills. You will focus on practical skill development such as written and oral communication skills appropriate to the demands of final year Undergraduate study and the workplace, efficient collaboration tactics in order to enhance your ability in global collaboration, and learn a variety of strategies to deal with translation challenges arising from cultural differences. Our interactive course involves:

Students joining the Final Year Entry programme will also benefit from an induction to the programme. The induction programme sees students paired with a peer mentor (buddy) who has experience of studying at Oxford Brookes University feel a part of a wider community from the start of your programme.

Entry requirements

Qualification requirements

The programme is designed for students with a foundation degree; a level 5 HND, or equivalent. These qualifications should be in relevant subjects such as Applied English, Business English, Tourism English, or Language, Culture and Communication. There are no specific essential Level 5 credits required, but grading equivalence must meet 55% or Merit Profile or higher. Applications are also welcomed for consideration from applicants with European qualifications, international qualifications or recognised foundation courses.
