Course summary

Our Masters in Management courses will help you shape your leadership and management skills to become an effective manager, able to operate in dynamic and complex organisational environments. You will gain an excellent understanding of the core subjects, enabling you to put to theory and contemporary thinking into practice. The MSc Management (International Business) award offers an opportunity to specialise in work and management in organisations where their role concerns operations across national borders or globally through the study of international HRM, strategic global supply chain management, international marketing, and networks and international strategic alliances. The unique selling points for this course are personalisation, application of learning into real world practice, an opportunity to take part in an International Experience overseas, and studying Responsible and Sustainable Management. In your third semester, you’ll choose an experiential project. With the opportunity to use your skills in a real-world setting, you can choose from completing a consultancy experience project, an in-company experience project or a business research project. Modules

In Semester One you'll study Principles of Management, Managing in Organisations and Managing in Context. In Semester Two you'll study International Human Resource Management, Global Supply Chain Management, and one optional module. In your final Semester you'll choose one of the following major projects: Consultancy Experience Project, Internship Experience Project or Business Research Project. Throughout the year you'll study Transformational Leadership Development, Research Methods for Managers, Placement Diploma in Industrial Experience (2 year course only). Assessment method

A range of assessment methods are used across the course, the choice of which reflects the needs and demands of the different types of module. Some modules will assess the ability to work collaboratively in a team and others will assess individual capability. Types of assessment will range from examinations to group presentations including essays, reports, financial analyses, literature review, and research based projects.

Entry requirements

An undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK undergraduate honours degree (2.2 or above); all applicants will be required to demonstrate a commitment to the subject they wish to study and should demonstrate how their chosen programme of study will benefit them in their future career; 1 academic reference is required; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 with minimum of 5.5 in each component. For a 2-year Masters you'll need a 6.5 grade overall with a minimum of 6.0 in speaking and listening, and 5.5 in reading and writing
