Course overview
- You’ll realise and develop your creative abilities and professional practice with our flexible Fine Art post graduate programme. It combines study, practice, research and peer learning in your chosen field
- This course is for those who are looking to further develop their own creative practice through conceptual and theoretical research and the critical analysis of contemporary art.
- You’ll have access to specialist teaching, workshop facilities and online and library-based learning resources.
- You’ll be taught by a range of full-time and associate lecturers, all of whom are practising and exhibiting artists, and supported by a team of qualified technical staff and visiting artists.
- This is a sequential programme of study, which sees you progressing from postgraduate Certificate to Diploma and then Master’s Award in Fine Art, upon completion of three modules.

Entry requirements
Normally a recognised British honours degree to a good standard, or its equivalent. The course is designed for graduates in Fine Art, artists, arts practitioners or other potential applicants from art and design who consider they have established an area of relevant research. In addition, potential students could include community-based professionals, activists and engage with location and built or rural environment These applicants will have to demonstrate the potential to develop their ideas within a creative, critical and theoretical framework related to debates in contemporary art. Prospective students should have the equivalent of a good honours degree in a recognised area of art and design or appropriate professional experience related to the post-graduate route in Fine Art. Applicants are welcomed from a range of academic and creative disciplines and will be considered in relation to their application statement and/or visual submission. Please contact the admissions team if you need advice on application and if you have the potential to benefit from and complete a post-graduate award in Fine Art. A detailed admissions procedure will be forwarded on application. Applications from all candidates will be considered on their merits and in the light of the nature and scope of the programme or work proposed.
