Course summary
The overall aim of the programme is to educate the future leaders in the international leather industry. The course covers aspects of the leather supply chain from raw material to end use with leather manufacture as the central theme.

STAGE 1 • Leather Technology and Materials Evaluation – Raw to Tanned (compulsory) • Leather Technology and Materials Evaluation – Tanned to Crust (compulsory) • Raw Materials and End Use (compulsory) • Surface Coatings 1 (compulsory) • Leather Science 1 (designated) • Foundations of Marketing (designated) • Introduction to Marketing Communications (designated) • Introduction to Management ( designated) • Enterprise and Opportunity (designated) Module information is quoted for 17/18 entry. Assessment method
The course is assessed in a number of ways: • Practical reports • Assignments • Presentations • Reflective portfolios • Examinations The student is conferred one of the following awards, Technologist Award, Technician Award or Pass Award, upon completion of the Leathersellers’ Certificate.
