Course summary

This degree is currently recruiting applicants for advanced entry to year 3 only. Applicants holding a relevant HND qualification such as HND Acting and Performance are eligible to apply for direct entry to year three. Please make sure you choose year three when completing your application. The degree aims to ensure that your study and performance is reflective of the specific challenges and opportunities for creative practitioners in rural Scotland, while also looking outwards towards the international context. The course has a strong practice-based approach informed by academic theory. You will be encouraged throughout the course to be an independent scholar, artist and performer, while also having the opportunity to form a creative company with your fellow students, a collaboration you will be encouraged to continue after graduation. You will be trained in a variety of skills in performance-making including acting, devising, technical theatre, writing and cultural planning, equipping you well for a broad range of vocational roles within the cultural sector, as well as further study at postgraduate level.

Please note this course is accepting applications for entry to year 3 only. Advanced entry to year three may be possible if you have completed the HND Acting and Performance, or equivalent. UHI does not use Tariff points, and accepts a range of qualifications. Applicants with other relevant qualifications or experience will be considered on an individual basis. You will be required to attend an audition and interview.
