Course summary
We have refreshed BSc (Hons) Software Development for Business and this updated programme is now BSc (Hons) Software Development. If you want to become an effective Software Development professional capable of working in highly technical roles to develop the software systems required by modern businesses, this programme will equip you with the in-depth technical knowledge, understanding and skills required. In year 1 and 2, you will study the foundations of computing and software development, building the fundamental skills in mathematics and programming. Year 3 and 4 will see you expand on these skills with specialised topics such as Mobile Platform Development, Advanced Programming, Cloud Computing, Big Data and IoT, DevOps, and Information Security. The programme offers the possibility of undertaking a year-long industry placement or to study abroad through Turing exchanges. Students are also encouraged to take part in activities with the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience. Our Software Development programmes are accredited by the Chartered Institute for IT.
