Course summary

Our MSc Marketing programme will equip you with the knowledge and analytical skills required for a range of exciting marketing roles in today’s fast-paced and ever-evolving world. Marketing is the hub of all modern business. In a world of constantly changing consumer habits and technological advances, marketing offers a wealth of exciting and creative career opportunities in digital, retail, advertising, manufacturing and finance. No business today can survive long without marketing. Our master's programme will enable you to discover the secrets behind effective strategic marketing management in a global marketplace, learn the techniques used in conducting and analysing market research, and explore the marketing mix in an international context. You will benefit directly from expert teaching by leading researchers, academics and practitioners, many of whom are world-renowned in their fields. In semester two you will work on a project with a leading brand. Most recently this was Britvic, suppliers of Pepsi Max, Robinsons, Rockstar and others to the UK market. Each group were allocated a brand and liaised with the Britvic marketing team to produce a report to increase sales after Covid-19. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to study towards The Chartered Institute of Marketing’s (CIM) level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing. This optional qualification is separate to the master’s programme and therefore involves an additional fee. It is taught by our training partner, TMLA (an accredited study centre for the CIM), and as we are part of the CIM Accredited Degree, you will be exempt from taking the exam and will only need to produce two assignments to achieve the Diploma. This professional diploma is sought after by employers when it comes to hiring new staff.

A good honours degree typically in a non-business field though those with a business background will be considered.

Additional fee information

The tuition fees shown are for new students commencing the first year of study in the specified year only. The fee stated is for a full-time student undertaking a master’s programme of 180 credits. Part-time students, or those taking a postgraduate certificate or a postgraduate diploma, should divide the published fee by 180 credits and then multiply by the number of credits they are taking to calculate their tuition fees. Fees are reviewed annually and are likely to increase to take into account inflationary pressures.
