Explore the diverse cultures, literatures and histories of the Spanish-speaking world with our immersive degree. At Birmingham, you'll gain in-demand intellectual and employability skills suitable for a variety of fields. As one of the most widely spoken languages worldwide, Spanish provides access to numerous career opportunities in multinational organizations, governmental agencies, education and cultural institutions. At Birmingham , you'll benefit from the diverse expertise of our Department, which includes specialists in Iberian and Latin American literature, history, linguistics, and translation studies. If you are interested in combining Spanish with one or two additional languages, explore our BA Modern Languages programme. Delve further into your language studies by choosing from a selection of exciting optional modules, which may include:

One of the most exciting elements of this degree is that you'll experience studying, working or teaching in a Year Abroad. There's an extensive range of language combinations available to you within our Modern Languages department. Some combinations we are unable to offer due to timetabling restrictions.
