Through field research and observation, anthropologists generate fresh insights into complex global challenges. You'll learn to understand the experiences of those most affected by these challenges. Sussex has one of the UK’s largest Social Anthropology departments. The broad diversity of our expertise will allow you to: -gain advanced knowledge of anthropology’s academic tradition and contemporary application -tailor your degree to match your own interests within anthropology -develop ethnographic research skills and apply them in your dissertation -put theory into practice, learning how anthropology makes a difference in the world. You'll be part of our School of Global Studies. We have a strong tradition of engaged anthropology focusing on real-world issues. This MA is for you if you want to deepen your knowledge of anthropology – but it also offers professional training if you’re new to the field. Anthropology is applicable in everyday life and a growing number of professional contexts, from NGOs to large companies and education institutions to research and policy organisations. Location Study on our beautiful, green campus on the edge of the South Downs National Park and just minutes from the vibrant seaside city of Brighton & Hove. Entry requirements

You should normally have an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree or above. Your qualification should normally be in anthropology or another humanities or social sciences subject; alternatively, you should have relevant professional experience or engagement.
