Course summary
Set in 600 acres of countryside in North Staffordshire, we have one of the largest and most beautiful campuses in Britain. We’re proud to be No.2 in England for Student Satisfaction with Course (Guardian University League Table, 2020), investing more than £140m in our campus in the last ten years, including £45m new science laboratories. In 2021 we were proud to be awarded Sustainability Institution of the Year at the prestigious Green Gown Awards as part of our mission to become a carbon neutral campus by 2030. We're committed to supporting you to achieve your career goals, and have a dedicated Careers and Employability team who can assist you to navigate your options beyond Keele. Applied mathematics seeks to model real-world problems in terms of mathematical formulae and equations. Our specialisms in Mathematics allow you to tailor your degree to your particular interests or career aspirations and gain recognition of this in the title of your final award. On this course you will learn to use maths to develop precise and logical arguments, construct rigorous proofs, and formulate solutions to new problems. You will study in an intellectually stimulating environment amongst other mathematicians and will develop a solid set of problem-solving skills relying on a variety of advanced mathematical techniques. Mathematics helps you to take novel approaches to problem solving and make critical interpretations of data and text. Our programme is designed for students with varying education backgrounds and we have a multi-layered student support structure.
