MRes Sport and Exercise at Winchester seeks to develop student expertise in a specific aspect of the sport and exercise domain. Specifically students have the opportunity to focus on physiology, biomechanics, coaching, sociology, strength and conditioning, business, exercise and health, or medicine. This innovative programme is designed to offer bespoke postgraduate provision to students from a wide range of sport and exercise-focused backgrounds. Students are given the opportunity to tailor their programme of study to their own specific areas of interest. As a result eight separate award titles are available to students: MRes Sport and Exercise (Physiology); MRes Sport and Exercise (Biomechanics); MRes Sport and Exercise (Coaching); MRes Sport and Exercise (Sociology); MRes Sport and Exercise (Strength and Conditioning); MRes Sport and Exercise (Business); MRes Sport and Exercise (Exercise and Health); MRes Sport and Exercise (Medicine). Students are supported when choosing which pathway to pursue. The programme also offers students the opportunity to undertake a substantial year-long research project of their choice under the guidance of expert staff from the Department of Sport and Exercise, further enabling students to tailor the programme to focus on their specific area of interest.
