Course summary

A unique and innovative dual accreditation of an MBA from Bangor University and Chartered Banker Designation from the Chartered Banker Institute - The only banking qualification in the World combining an MBA and Chartered Banker status. The Chartered Banker MBA is aimed at senior individuals in banks and other financial services firms, or those seeking to join the industry, who wish to extend their knowledge and understanding and to acquire the skills to cope with the change in the ever-evolving financial services industry. This high-level and intensive learning experience combines generic MBA disciplines (such as marketing, human resources, and strategic management) with more specialist subjects such as Financial Institutions Risk Management, Credit and Lending & Financial Crises and Regulation that reflect modern banking and finance. The diverse Chartered Banker MBA experience for bankers also makes this dual award of wider interest to any professional concerned with or interested in global banking and financial services. Designed for busy professionals, this part time distance learning programme allows flexibility to study around work commitments. Accelerated routes are available for holders of professional banking qualifications and congruent approved master's programmes, allowing the degree to be completed in as little as 12 months in some cases.

Entry requirements

Candidates are assessed on an individual basis. As an example, entry to the full programme would require a good first degree or possession of an approved professional qualification and practical experience. Candidates who do not have a formal degree or professional qualification, but have several years of approved management experience will also be considered. Candidates may wish to submit their CV for assessment to confirm eligibility for a specific route. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years practical experience at a relevant level. Applicants must have a high level of fluency in the English language. English Language requirements: The English language tests we normally refer to are as follows; IELTS: 6.0 (with no element below 5.5) Pearson PTE: a score of 56 (with no element lower than 51) Cambridge English Test – Advanced: 169 (with no element lower than 162) Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years practical experience at a relevant level. Applicants must have a high level of fluency in the English language. English Language requirements: The English language tests we normally refer to are as follows; - IELTS: an overall score of 6.0 with no individual score of less than 5.5 - TOEFL: 560 with a TWE (written score) of 4 - Computer-based TOEFL: 220 - The minimum requirement for IBT (Internet-based TOEFL) is 80 with no element below 16.
