Course summary

Upon completing the CertHE course, you can progress to the Law and Legal Practice (LLB) course, which prepares you to complete the Solicitors’ Qualifying Exam (SQE).

Year One – Level 4 (CertHE) • Criminal Law (20 credits; compulsory) • Criminal Litigation (20 credits; compulsory) • Learning in the Digital Era (20 credits; compulsory; Graduate Attributes Framework module) • Legal Process (20 credits; compulsory) • Principles of Professional Legal Practice (20 credits; compulsory) • Public Law (20 credits; compulsory).
Assessment method
The course will be assessed by a mixture of written coursework, simulations, workbooks, presentations and exams. Each module is worth 20 credits which would equal two assessments per module with the equivalent of a 2,000- 3,500-word assignment or an exam per 10 credits, depending on level of study.
