Course summary

The Management (Human Resources) MSc will help you study HR within a managerial perspective and to undertake specialist studies in the management of talent, reward and performance. During the course you’ll be working on case studies and live client projects. There’s also an option of paid work experience which will help you put the latest academic thinking and business strategies into practice as you prepare for future management roles. Initially, you will complete the same core modules as on other management courses. At the end of term two you will then be able to specialise in one of three areas, or continue on a more general route toward our Management MSc qualification. The other specialisms offered are:

  • Management (Entrepreneurship) MSc
  • International Management MSc
Accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), this course progresses you towards Chartered Manager status – the highest level that can be achieved in the management profession. You will also be eligible for membership to the Institute of Directors.

Modules

Core modules (terms 1 and 2): International Leadership Management; International Marketing Management; Managing Organisational Behaviour; Management Environment; Managing Operations and Systems; International Strategy Management; Accounting for Managers; Mandatory specialism module (Term 3): Human Research Management. Choose from over 20 options including: Entrepreneurship and New Venture Planning; Managing Technological and Organisational Innovation; Public Service Management; Behavioural Economics; Cross-Cultural Negotiations; E-Business; Retail Marketing; Gamification for Business; Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Assessment method

Assessment is composed of a mix of coursework, project work and examinations.


Entry requirements

Normally a 2:2 honours degree or equivalent is required. Work experience is useful but not essential. Applicants with non-standard entry qualifications will be considered. If you are unsure whether you meet the entry requirements please contact us. International students who need help meeting the academic entry requirements should contact our International College. Applicants who hold an HND or Foundation degree equivalent can take our nine-month Business BSc top-up degree and then progress onto this masters degree. IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each element.
