Course summary
The PhD in Financial Technology is a 3-year, full-time doctoral programme offering a flexible research programme at the intersection of finance/economics and informatics/technology. It allows you the opportunity to audit a course related to your research topic in agreement with your supervisors, with an expectation that you will work on research from the start. Given the programme's interdisciplinary nature, this includes courses in other schools. You will work closely with your supervisory team, which provides advice on research and career development to prepare you for a successful scholarly career. In addition, the School offers a large number of research seminars across different subject areas throughout each year, delivered by renowned scholars from around the world, providing ample opportunity to learn about a variety of specialised topics. As a member of a world-leading university, you will be part of a broader research-intensive environment and have the opportunity to network both with academic staff and research students, within and outwith the school. For PhD studies in collaboration with an industry partner, you will also gather experience from a project targeting real-world applications in the financial sector.
