Course summary

Explore the physical processes shaping natural environments and the role of humans as agents of environmental change, and gain the knowledge and skills to tackle global issues from the climate emergency to environmental degradation. This course gives you access to a wide range of modules in physical and human geography, allowing you to tailor your learning experience. BSc Single Honours students will typically study research techniques associated with physical geography, whilst Combined Honours students might choose to follow either a physical or human geography research methods route. The Single Honours course is accredited by the Royal Geographical Society. The course allows you to specialise in a range of physical geography sub-disciplines, with opportunities to study elements of human geography if that suits your interests. You will learn about the physical processes that shape the most pressing contemporary global environment issues. A range of employment skills are embedded within the course and you will have the invaluable opportunity to build work with a graduate employer on placement.
