Course summary

Overview Discover how to turn ideas and opportunities into a successful business venture on this BA (Hons) International Enterprise and Business Communication top-up degree, while also developing your English language skills. You'll explore all aspects of business enterprise, such as how to harness your entrepreneurial spirit when building a new business, and the art of bringing new products and services to market, from an initial spark through to development and launch. Studying in an English-speaking environment, you'll also learn how people use conversational, formal and business English in preparation for the fast-paced world of international business enterprise and entrepreneurship. After the course, you'll have the English language skills and international enterprise understanding to set up your own business or start-up. You'll also be prepped to succeed in a range of careers in the global marketplace, in areas such as business management, export and/or import finance, international market research and marketing.

  • Improve your English in three ways:
dedicated English language classes to improve your vocabulary and grammar business communications classes where you'll practise presentations, interviews and writing for business living and working with both UK and international students and experiencing life in a welcoming UK city
  • Learn what goes into building a profitable business enterprise from start to finish, including self-motivation and entrepreneurialism, product portfolio management and service innovation, and business strategy
  • Be fully supported by your tutors and our dedicated global team, and join a community with more than 5,000 international and EU students from 150 different countries
  • Earn a full BA (Hons) degree in International Enterprise and Business Communication in just two years
  • Have the opportunity to learn a foreign language for free as part of your degree, choosing from Arabic, British Sign Language, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin or Spanish
Eligibility This course is open to EU and international students whose first language is not English. A key part of the course is improving your written and spoken business English. Careers and opportunities With the knowledge, intercultural skills and awareness, confidence and motivation this course will give you, you'll be ready to join the ranks of these successful entrepreneurs in setting up your own new business, or to apply what you've learned to a career in the global marketplace. Your enhanced English language and business communication skills will be invaluable too - the ability to effectively communicate with others and in different contexts, with awareness and understanding of different cultures, will give you an edge within your new business or future roles. Entry requirements

Qualification requirements

Applicants for the 2 year course require relevant HE study leading to a Level 4 qualification, for example an appropriate HNC, or 120 credits from year 1 of an undergraduate degree (BA/BSc), in a relevant subject. Applicants for the 1 year course require relevant HE study leading to a Level 5 qualification, for example an appropriate HND, foundation degree or Advanced Diploma, or 240 credits from year 1 and year 2 of an undergraduate degree (BA/BSc), in a relevant subject.
