The Travel and Tourism industry is one of the fastest growing industries within the UK and has a vast amount of employment opportunities available. An Edexcel HND in Tourism Management is a logical step towards a managerial position within the industry or to studying a BA Hons degree.
Successful completion of the HND requires an accumulation of 240 credits, with 120 credits at each of the two levels. Students will study a range of units that may include:- Level 4 (Year 1) modules – Mandatory core units: •The Travel and Tourism Sector (15 credits) •Finance and Funding in the Travel and Tourism Sector (15 credits) Optional units: •Marketing in Travel and Tourism (15 credits) •Contemporary Issues in Travel and Tourism (15 credits) •Resort Management (15 credits) •Heritage and Cultural Tourism (15 credits) •Visitor Attraction Management (15 credits) Level 5 (Year 2) modules – Mandatory core units: •The Developing Manager (15 credits) •Research Project (20 credits) •Marketing in Travel and Tourism (15 credits) •Sustainable Tourism Development (15 credits) •Legislation and Ethics in the Travel and Tourism Sector (15 credits) •Human Resource Management for Service Industries (15 credits)
