This Level 5 Higher National Diploma is a 'top-up' from the L4 Higher National Certificate in Construction & The Built Environment (Civil Engineering pathway). Holders of the Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma will have developed a sound understanding of the principles of civil engineering and will have learned to apply those principles more widely. You will learn to evaluate the appropriateness of different approaches to solving problems. You will be able to perform effectively in your chosen field and have the qualities necessary for employment in situations requiring the exercise of personal responsibility and decision-making. This course allows students to specialise by committing to specific career paths and progression routes to degree-level study. In addition, the qualifications may provide links to industry-related and employer-supported apprenticeship schemes that can provide further opportunities for enhanced employability.
