Course summary

On this course you will learn from experts about the natural science and human aspects of conservation. Through award-winning teaching in the classroom and on the extensive selection of field trips, you will understand the impacts of a changing world on wildlife, and what can be done. Our optional residential course on ‘Tropical Conservation Science’ is currently held in the tropical forests and beaches of Costa Rica. • You’ll become part of the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE), an award-winning research centre • The teachers on this course were ranked first in the UK for their research outputs (Geography & Environmental Studies panel, in the UK government’s Research Excellent Framework 2021). • You’ll experience a thought-provoking mix of teaching methods, including field trips, laboratory sessions, lectures, and small seminar groups. • The student-led Conservation Society offers even more opportunities to be involved in projects and be part of a close-knit community • You’ll use outstanding facilities such as indoor and outdoor ecology labs, and genetics labs • You’ll benefit from ongoing support in your studies through our excellent staff-student ratio (so you won’t get lost in a crowd), regular workshops and talks as well as dedicated academic advisors and peer mentoring scheme. • You’ll be taught by experts at the forefront of conservation practice and conservation science Location The beautiful green campus is rich in nature.
