Course summary
This course aims to prepare students for a range of technical, professional and management careers in Construction. It provides specialised studies that are directly relevant to individual vocations and professions that students are currently working in, or wish to work in. Students will be able to make an immediate contribution in their current employment (if currently in employment within the industry), in addition to developing a variety of skills, techniques, personal qualities and attitudes that are essential for successful performance in working life. Upon successful completion of this course, students will earn one of the following qualifications (depending on pathway choice): HNC in Construction Management HNC in Architectural Technology HNC in Modern Methods of Construction HNC in Quantity Surveying Applications for this course can be made via the main college website at www.smbcollegegroup.ac.uk. Qualification requirements
For students who have recently been in education, the entry profile is to include one of the following: - A BTEC Level 3 qualification in Construction and The Built Environment - An A Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subjects - 5 GCSEs at A* to C and/or 9 to 4 (or equivalent) is also desirable Other relevant Level 3 qualifications include: - An Access to Higher Education Diploma awarded by an approved further education institution - For students who have not recently been in education, related work experience will also be considered.
