Course summary
The Higher National Certificate in Business is a vocational course that is the equivalent of the first year of a degree and offers the opportunity to gain valuable industry skills . Higher National qualifications have long been widely recognised by industry as valuable vocational higher education qualification, which are regularly updated with input from industry, employers, professional bodies, tutors and students to ensure the qualification meet the needs and expectations of a changing global world. This course is taught on two full days per week and assessed through a variety of vocationally based assignments, with no exams. These assessments are designed to help develop the skills and knowledge to enable students to meet the demands of employers. Subjects you may follow:

Assessment method
Assessment will take place in a variety of ways including projects, assignments, presentations and reports. All assessed work will be returned to you within an agreed timescale, accompanied by completed feedback sheet; praising the positive, indicating areas for improvement and setting realistic and achievable goals. All assessed work is subject to moderation. All students will have a sample of their work moderated and regarded by a second marker throughout their studies. To ensure the grades issued are in-line with the academic standards set out by the awarding body, your work will also be subject to further moderation and quality checks by an external examiner.
