Course summary
Our biomedical science integrated masters degree offers an advanced-level understanding of biomedical science practice. You’ll gain a deeper knowledge of the biological principles that relate to the workings of the human body, as well as the characteristics and diagnosis of disease leading to possible therapeutic interventions. As you progress through the degree, you’ll move on to more specialist and advanced topics. That could include anything from cell and molecular biology, physiological systems and research skills, to blood science, cellular science and immunology – to name but a few. You’ll spend your final year focusing on a major independent research project in the area of your choice. FEATURES AND BENEFITS
- Our pioneering research in lifelong health and ageing, microbiology, vascular biology and musculoskeletal science and sports medicine has led to important advances in diagnosis and care.
- We are investing £115m to transform the way we teach in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Opening in 2023, our new Dalton building will enhance collaboration between students, staff and industry and provide new and improved teaching spaces, including a 200-student capacity ‘super lab’.
- We have high-spec teaching and research laboratories with specialist equipment, including blood biochemistry, biomechanics, motor control and exercise performance laboratories.
- You’ll have access to regular online video support, which provides additional explanation and guidance on a range of topics, from coursework and exam paper guidance to lab demonstrations.
