Course summary

This MSc provides significant technical content which will develop students' skills in the Data Science area. In recent years, major organisations have made significant investments into data warehousing and data mining technologies which are now at the forefront of business intelligence. The price of the technology has also reduced significantly since the inception of data warehousing, allowing smaller organisations to gain a competitive advantage by utilising the large pool of transactional data that in some cases has been stored for many years. This is an area of huge job growth, with a need for a large number of people with the skills to apply and manage the technology. You will learn to use databases and analytical tools to identify trends, patterns and correlations in data. You will also learn how to present and visualise your findings for specialist and non-specialist audiences.
