Our 3-year program is designed to foster versatility and individuality in our students. Our goal is to empower students throughout their educational journey by enhancing their critical thinking skills and strengthening their technical abilities as they progress toward becoming performing arts professionals. Emphasizing intensive, hands-on training, our curriculum provides equal focus on Dance, Singing, and Acting, integrating these elements to cultivate well-rounded musical theatre practitioners adept in both Contemporary and Legit genres. We actively promote creativity and encourage exploration of musical theatre practices, fostering the development and creation of new productions. Upon completion of training at ROM Theatre Arts, graduates can expect to feel equipped with the expertise necessary to excel in a diverse range of performance settings. The degree course represents a culmination of a decade's work in delivering musical theatre provisions, addressing the need to adapt to the ever-evolving landscape of higher educational training and the professional musical theatre industry, by adopting inclusive, innovative, and progressive pedagogical methods. In partnership with esteemed University of Chichester, the degree has been meticulously crafted to foster growth and nurture creativity, enabling students to become the ultimate version of themselves equipped with the tools of professional practice and the technical robustness needed to thrive as performers, students are prepared for success. Alongside our highly experienced team of lecturers and educators, ROM provides access to some of the UK's most prominent creatives and professionals through our Associate Workshops. Industry professionals lead innovative seminars and workshops, enhancing and broadening the educational context, imparting real-world knowledge to our students. This also provides opportunities to build our students networks and connetion matrix to help them when time to graduate into the professional sphere. The training is delivered through a balanced timetable of lessons and workshops across the three key skill areas of Acting, Vocal, and Dance studies. The course boasts a high volume of working hours, with approximately 32 contact hours per week, affording an intensity believed to promote maximum skill and mindset growth, allowing ample time for thorough practice. Through our program, we collaborate with you to develop your individual outlook as an artist and how to translate that into a career. Working within small groups in each year ensures you are not just a number but a vital part of the community in which you train. In the final year, alongside your training, you will connect and collaborate with industry creatives. Your endeavors will culminate in a Book Musical production, an agent showcase, and a piece of new writing devised and constructed with a professional writer. Additional performances throughout your training, such as Choreographic sharing, Open mic nights, and Variety showcase performances, enrich your portfolio and showcase your artistic prowess. ROM Theatre Arts is dedicated to providing you with an individual educational experience that is not only enriching but also serves as a solid stepping stone towards a successful career in the performing arts industry.
