The industry-facing computer- generated content of this Computer Animation degree is underpinned by solid artistic and creative practices, enabling you to produce the best results possible. During major projects, you'll work with others in a collaborative manner in a work-simulation environment that mirrors industry studio practice. Additional entry requirements
Selection for this course is based on a suitable application and attendance at an interview with successful outcome. Your interview is an opportunity for you to talk about your interests and ideas, and to find out what is so special about Computer Animation at USW. Use the opportunity to tell us about your traditional art and design skills and show us that you have begun to investigate the 3D CG animation, games and VFX industry and share why you would like to work within these areas.
We encourage you to bring either a portfolio or examples of your work (digital/physical) to your interview. If your interview is online, a link to your portfolio or work can be sent to [email protected]. We are interested in seeing a range of areas including: - Drawing - observational, life drawing, concept/design sketches and storyboarding - Fine Art based projects which may include painting, sculpture and printmaking - 2D and 3D design to display your abilities in creative thinking in pursuit of a design process. You are welcome to bring sketchbooks which show evidence of working through the creative process from research, design development and concept sketches or which support your drawing or fine art projects. You may also wish to show examples of digital 2D or 3D CG work, but this is not a requirement.
