Course summary

Develop the technical, quantitative, and analytical skills needed to pursue a career in finance and wealth management professions. This MSc in Finance and Wealth Management helps you manage your own wealth, as well as that of others, develop your understanding of investment theory and practice and understand financial decision-making in enterprises. With a unique vocational focus, you will be equipped with the key skills to develop into a cutting-edge leader, capable of positively impacting business organisations. The course covers academic as well as practical and contemporary aspects of Finance and Wealth Management, enabling you to enhance your career prospects in modern, post-pandemic business organisations. You'll also be able to build on your own work and entrepreneurship experience, implementing the skills and knowledge you gain in the classroom in your workplaces and own businesses in ‘real time’. This course aims to produce graduates that can work effectively in the key functional areas of any type of organisation, be it for profit organisations, governments, institutions or charities. We aim to provide you with a 21st Century technology-advanced educational experience where there are no hidden costs. Your tuition fees are fully inclusive – finance will not be a barrier to your ultimate success. You do not need any work experience to be admitted to our MSc Finance and Wealth Management course.

Modules

Level 7: You will complete the following three 30-credit modules alongside the dissertation module:

  • Strategic Wealth Management & Financial Planning
  • Investment Analysis and Financial Econometrics
  • Corporate Finance and Business Strategy
  • Dissertation
You will complete one of the following 30-credit optional modules:
  • International Finance and Risk Management
- Monetary Policy and Financial Markets

Assessment method

We use a range of new and traditional assessment methods to allow you to explore and express your abilities. They are not just a way of assessing whether something has been learned, but an opportunity to develop skills that will equip you in your future life and career. We aim to provide all the support you need to make sure you have the confidence and understanding to engage with your assessments. Our tutors are experienced in providing support to students who may feel unconfident in an academic environment. You can also access free support through our Learning Enhancement team.

Entry requirements

Applicants require minimum 2:2 (lower second class) honours degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or another Business-related subject with quantitative skills. We also accept a broad range of international qualifications. Applicants for whom English is a second language require IELTS at 6 (minimum 5.5 in each skill sub-set). Alternatively, you can take our English Password Skills Solo Test that we provide free-of-charge to all international applicants. You may also be required to pass an academic interview.
