Course summary

This course will investigate the impact of loss and trauma, equipping professionals with the skills and knowledge to support children and young people across all settings in Attachment, Adversity, Trauma and Mental Health. Course overview The course can be completed within one year (maximum three years) and will be delivered at our popular postgraduate Weekend Schools (Wheeler Building), or in live online sessions (Distance Learning). This course has never been more relevant. What will you learn? There are three 20-credit modules. The modules follow a theme reflecting professional context and individual interests. The three modules can be studied in any order. These modules will be of interest and relevance to those working with children, young people and adults with an interest in behavioural approaches to teaching and learning. As with all modules, each can be taken as a stand-alone in combination with any others, but collectively these three modules provide comprehensive coverage of the advanced and specialist knowledge, skills and understanding.


Entry requirements

The Postgraduate Certificate in Attachment, Trauma and Mental Health (Children, Young People and Adults) is open to those who have professional experience in working with children and young people. Entry requirements for the course are normally a minimum of 2:2 from an undergraduate degree. Applicants will normally be working in, or aspiring to, a role in supporting Children, Young People and Adults, or wishing to acquire specialist knowledge and skills. It is possible for applicants who are not in work to undertake the programme through a combination of university-based taught modules.
